Education, and why you need to purchase a home right now

I have to say that when my wife and I bought our first home, at 30 years old, we were not financially astute.

Even though I had been working in finance for about five years at that point, we had wasted a solid 5 years of paying rent up till then.

We kept thinking “next year” or “we don’t have a down payment yet”, or “we don’t have time to take care of our own home”.

And, while those excuses may have been true, I say now: Balderdash!

There is no time like the present to get out from under paying your landlord’s mortgage and start using your mortgage to start building equity and thus wealth.

Did you know the average renter in the United States has a net worth of $6500?And that the average homeowner has a net worth of $255,000?

Did you know you don’t need a 20% down payment to purchase a home? That it can be done for as little as 3% or even 0% if you are a veteran or for some rural properties?

Did you know that there are grants available to first time homebuyers that may cover some or all of your downpayment costs? Grants = free money, money you don’t have to pay back.

I cannot be graceful or quiet about it, it is imperative for you to investigate as soon a possible how you can get into your own home.

I can talk to you about buying a single-family home just for you and your immediate people, and why now is the time.

Or we can talk about making you a real estate investor right from the start; by house hacking, nomading, or buying a duplex or triplex to start supplementing your living costs.

I cannot stress enough how important it is for you to get your mind around not renting anymore.

A good friend of mine, Brady Mullen, has put together a short video series on a bunch of topics related to buying a home, your first home.

If you watch this series and don’t think what it illustrates is valuable, I’ll take you out to lunch, just let me know.

Here is a link to the series, https://greenteamedu.com/get-started

and a list of topics for the videos is underneath. These videos are 5-10 minutes long, contain a wealth of knowledge, and are in bite size portions.

Let me know if I can answer any questions for you.
